PLATA.FORMA

Improving the lifestyle of the village while preserving the natural landscape and blending in seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

BLENDING IN NATURE

Laqlouq – Plata.forma is an innovative and multifunctional complex located in the small mountainous village of Laqlouq in the Byblos District of Keserwan.

The complex is composed of two main features: a 200-meter-long and 7-meter-wide concrete strip that houses public areas, and independent and semi-public functions located beneath the public spaces, which are shaped by the concrete strip and its various levels.

The project was designed to be a focal point of attraction in the area by adopting a unique architectural style that distinguishes it from the surrounding buildings. This was achieved through the design of the concrete strip, which serves as a public interface between the people and their surroundings. The strip is able to host a variety of events for the public, while remaining in constant communication with the surrounding environment. This is reflected in the inflations created in some areas of the strip, which offer better viewpoints for visitors and allow them to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the 360 landscape.

Overall, Laqlouq – Plata.Forma is an excellent example of innovative and sustainable architecture that has a positive impact on both the local community and the natural environment. The project showcases how innovative design can create a harmonious balance between modern structures and the natural landscape, while also providing a valuable public space for people to come together and enjoy various events and activities
